The surgeons over 60 years of age got together on the occasion of the first meeting of the Trivandrum Senior Surgeons Association. The group included many senior faculty of the Department of General Surgery at Trivandrum Medical College over the years. The doyens who have trained many generations of surgeons who now work in Kerala, the rest of India and abroad include Dr PA Thomas Sr, Dr PA Thomas Jr, Dr Alphonse Legori, Padma Sri Dr KP Haridas, Dr MS Nair, Dr C Karthikeyan, Dr Babu Subhash Chandran, Dr Dayananda Baby, Dr Reghu, Dr PP Nair, Dr Dileep Kumar, Dr Samadarsi, Dr Sam Vicliph, Dr Sreekumar, Dr Vasu, Dr Krishnan Nair and Dr Usha.
