Dr. Siva Narayana Pillai was a surgeon par excellence and a surgical teacher who inspired four decades of medical students to surgical careers. He was a simple man with humility, compassion towards patients and life long dedication to surgical teaching. He spent most of his surgical career at Trivandrum Medical College where he became Professor of Surgery.

Dr. K. K. Mathew

Dr. K. K. Mathew is a renowned physician, graduated from Trivandrum Medical College in 1968 and passed M.D. in 1973 at Maulana Azad Medical college, New Delhi. He is also a medical scientist and English Poet of international repute. He is also a noted novelist, spiritual thinker and orator. After discarding all better prospects, he chose to serve rural population since the past 44 years. He was the chief Physician at St.Thomas mission hospital Kattanam from 1974 to 1985. Since then he is serving at Kayamkulam.

Regional Cancer Centre Trivandrum is an autonomous health care institution catering to cancer care. Yesterday the announcement of the selection of a new full-time Director for RCC came. Dr Rekha A Nair gets the coveted post. She is the first female Director and comes to the post with 30 years of experience. She is an internationally known Pathologist with several publications in international and national indexed journals. She joined Trivandrum Medical College in 1979, graduated in 1984 and obtained MD Pathology from TMC in 1989.

The 10th Thiruvananthapuram Orthopaedic Postgraduate Instructional Course (TOPIC 2018) conducted by the Orthopedic department of the Trivandrum Medical College in association with  Thiruvananthapuram Orthopaedic Society began on the 12th of October. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Thomas Mathew, principal of the Trivandrum Medical College. Orthopaedic PG students from various parts of the country and outside will be taking part in the event. He is reasonably healthy with no diabetes, hypertension or dyslipidemja. He was with his son who has retired 5years ago from government service. He represents a healthy generation of the bygone era.
